My Cousin is in
Merchant Navy..... He was sailing on this ship just a couple of months back..... His ship was struck by the Hurricane...
mmmmmmm I don't remember the name of that hurricane......??? The one which came soon after Hurricane Katrina.......

The weather was rough ,,,High speed winds,,And above all the sea had gone wild....
In one pic you can see a white pole at the Bow end of the ship..But it is not visible in the second one....its totally covered by water.....
ooooooooohhhhhh goshhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
This was the firs time that he had experienced a Hurricane .... Leaving the engine, rest every thing stopped working (communication system etc......) Its good that the engine was working.... they had a tough time... .... But a gr8 experience... Some kind of experience which the will remember for the rest of their life

O mi god..that's an experience all right..but its a really scary one!! I'm glad he is fine and okay...but he must have been terrified till this 'experience' got over!!

Came across your blog and the first thing that I saw was about this blog on hurricane. It is Hurricane Rita that you are talking about. In the beginning it was supposed to have crossed over in Dallas and I live in Dallas. I was completely petrified. Luckily, the hurricane lost enough strength as she made landfall , hitting the coast of Texas. By the time, it moved closer to Dallas, we had only high winds ( and no rain !! ) The winds were so strong that I had problem steering my car but it was not all that bad as it had been with Katrina !!
Hurricanes & Thunderstors are news to me because in India, all we encounter is heavy rains !!
Anyway, it was nice reading your blog and great picture !!

God! Reminds me of the tsunami experience for the Chennaites! But then its something that can be fully understood only when experienced!
