Dandeli

Dandeli is a picturesque city set amidst the backdrop of the Western Ghats (about 100kms from belgaum). It is a natural habitat for wildlife. Safaris in Open jeep into the Dandeli wildlife sanctuary accompanied by trained naturalists are the best way to view wildlife here. It is home to big cats such as Tigers, Leopards, & even Black Panthers, Elephants, Gaur, Deer’s, Antelopes, many kinds of reptiles & rich variety of Birds. It is also a perfect place for White Water Rafting. Off late it has become a hot tourist spot and attracts many local and foreign tourists all the year around…

I and six other frns (pavan, swapnil, nihar, deepak, Omkar and Roopesh) had planned to experience it. It was a 3day trip. We stayed in tents surrounded by thick forest, went for safari, Trekking, had a trilling Jungle experience.

And will run into pages if I write in detail. I tried to write it in brief but still it was very long. So I think these pics are self explanatory.. What say?

Just Click on the link Below and check out all the pics

Lost In hell

It's been a long time since I felt this way
So incredibly, impossibly, painful
that I can think of nothing else all the day.
For once I can't afford to let it fade
I must quell this aching loneliness
I must drag my heart from this shade.
I will do it, I shall-
I will drag my heart from this shade...

I've never, ever, felt quite this way
so incredibly, impossibly, deeply hurt
that I can think of nothing else all the day.
I must find some way to make it fade
I must quell this even deeper loneliness
I must drag my heart from this shade.
I will do it, I shall-
I will drag my heart from this shade.
For this too shall pass.

How To Drop Weight and Become Healthier Using These 7 Simple Everyday Life Tips?

These 7 day-to-day life tips provided below will help you to drop your extra pounds, become more energetic and healthier.

  1. Drink More Water

Our bodies need a lot of water. Water removes waste from our organisms and carries various nutrients into all our organs and cells. Your body also loses water by using it for various ways. For this reason you have to replace it and drink water more often than you are used to.

Start your day with a glass of water in the morning. Drink a glass of water before any meal. Take a bottle of water with you when you go to work. Your body needs approximately 3-5 liters of water during one day. So don't hesitate to drink plenty of water wherever and whenever you can.

  2. Eat Fruits and Drink Fruit Juices

Eating fruits and juices helps you eliminate toxins from your body. Eating a variety of fruits also helps you get enough fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. That's why you should eat fresh fruits and drink natural fruit juices as often as possible.

Fruit juices from stores are often sweetened. If you want to drink juices, make fresh juices yourself. If you think it takes too much of the time, then look for juices with labels that say "100% fruit juice". These are much healthier for your body as long as they contain much more vitamins.

  3. Eat Lots of Vegetables and Vegetable Salads

When it comes to losing extra pounds, vegetables are a great choice. They are natural and contain different vitamins, minerals and tons of other useful chemicals known to provide benefits for your body. Vegetables are low in fat and calories, they help control blood glucose levels, reduce blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of colon and other cancers. All these features also help control your weight effectively.

If you feel that eating vegetables alone isn't great choice for you, then make some salads. Mixing vegetables together gives you even more different vitamins and health benefits. There are tons of tasty, healthy salad recipes on the internet. You can also use you imagination to make some great salads.

  4. Eat Only When You Are Hungry

How many times you've been to a party where you saw lots of different and tasty looking meals, which you were offered to try.

Don't eat, because you are offered to. Eat only when you want to.

Many people also like snacking. In between meals or when have nothing to do. Quit snacking. Most snacks contain a lot of fat and calories. Replace your usual snacks with vegetables or fruits. These are healthy to your body and you'll never get fatter, only thinner.

  5. Carry Healthy Food with You

Many of us work busy office jobs and don't have time to eat regularly. In this case, bring your own made food with you. Instead of bringing sandwiches with meat, take vegetable salads, carrots, chicken salads. Any low fat food will do. This way, you won't have to wait for a break to fill your stomach. You'll be able to have fixed times when eating food.

It's also important to try to eat about 5 times a day, rather than 3 or 2. Eat in smaller quantities, but more often. This helps you to increase your metabolism.

  6. Work Out When You Can

Working out in a gym is not only a great way to grow some muscles, but also to drop a few pounds. Exercising helps you burn your calories instead of storing them in your body as fat. Our bodies were made to be active, so exercising slowly and easily can actually help you get more energy and make you feel much better.

At the end of the week, try to lose all the stress and burn your calories in a gym or having some kind of physical activity at home. If you have time, then try to do easy exercises everyday.

  7. Don't Lie Down or Sit When You Can Move

Many of us like to watch TV lying on a couch or sitting in a comfortable chair. Of course, when you come home after hard working day, you're tired, and all you can think of, is a couch and a remote in your hand. But such laziness won't help you lose weight. Contrarily, it will make you grow some more pounds.

So don't lie or sit, when you can walk and move. Instead of staring at TV, like a goofy, go ahead and work out in your garden for example, clean your garage, fix your car, go to walk in park or beach. Breathe fresh air and move more often. Not only does it help to reduce stress after work, but also ups your mood and makes you more energetic.

In Conclusion

Remember that all these tips will help you to lose weight, but only if you are determined and are ready to devote some of your time. Don't expect to slim down 4 sizes after eating 5 carrots and drinking orange juice.

Your body, just like many things in this world, needs time. So be patient. And if you will honestly use at least some of these tips, you are going to change your lifestyle, which in the end will lead you to a thinner and healthier body.

An Interesting Conversation -- Must Read

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem
science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new students to
    stand and.....

Prof: So you believe in God?
    Student: Absolutely, sir.

    Prof: Is God good?
    Student: Sure.

    Prof: Is God all-powerful?
    Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal
him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.
How is this God good then? Hmm?
    Student is silent.

Prof: You can't answer, can you?
Let's start again, young fellow. Is God good?
    Student: Yes.

    Prof: Is Shaitan good?
    Student: No.

Prof: Where does Shaitan come from?
    Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
    Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything.
    Correct?
    Student: Yes.

    Prof: So who created evil?
    Student does not answer.

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these
terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
    Student: Yes, sir.

    Prof: So, who created them?
    Student has no answer.

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe
the world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?
    Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
    Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?
Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
    Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
    Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science
says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Now the student said can I ask something to you Professor.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
    Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
    Prof: Yes.

    Student: No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat,
mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have
anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but
we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold.
Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot
measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just
the absence of it. (There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
    darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student: You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something.
You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light...
But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called
darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be
able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue
there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are
viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and
magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To
view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that
death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of
life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your
students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of
    course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where
    the argument is going.)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at
work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are
you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a
    preacher?

    (The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's
    brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain,
felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So,
according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable
protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect,
sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face
    unfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH. That is
all that keeps things moving & alive. .

    this iz a true story.

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat)
    or endothermic (absorbs
    heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs
    using Boyle's Law
that gas cools when it expands
and heats when it is compressed or some
    variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:
First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time.
    So we
need to know the rate at which souls are
moving into Hell and the rate
    at which they are leaving.
I think that we can safely assume that once
    a soul gets to Hell,
it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are
    leaving.
As for how many souls are entering Hell,
    let's look at the different
    religions
that exist in the world today.
    Most of these religions state
    that,
if you are not a member of their religion,
    you will go to Hell.

Since there is more than one of these religions and
    since people do not
belong to more than one religion,
we can project that all souls go to
    Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are,
    we can expect the number
    of souls in Hell to
    increase exponentially. Now,
we look at the rate of
change of the volume in Hell.
Because Boyle's Law states that in order
    for the
temperature and pressure in Hell to stay constant,
    the volume
    of Hell must expand
    proportionately as souls are added.

    This gives two possibilities:
    1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than
    the rate at which souls
    enter Hell,
then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase
    until all Hell breaks loose.

    2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than
    the increase of souls in
    Hell, then the
temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes
    over.
    So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Sandra
    during my freshman
    year,
that "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,
    " and
take into account the fact that I slept with her last night,
    then number
    2 must be true,
and thus I am sure that Hell is endothermic
    and has
    already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since
    Hell has frozen over, it
follows that it is not accepting
any more souls and is extinct...
    leaving
only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a
    divine being - which
    explains why, last night,
Sandra kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A".

    Do u Dream Of me...

A few days back.. my friend Praveen told me that, she dreamt of me...... Hehe... LOL... so thought of having a poem about dreams....
    This is for u praveen....

Dreams within the still of night
On wings of hope take flight inside of me
    There upon some distant shore
We want for nothing more than what will be
And you and i, here we are
I wonder as we’ve come this far...

If I could only read your mind
Tell me the answer I would find
    Do you dream of me?
And when you’re smiling in your sleep
    Beyond the promises we keep
    Do you dream of me?

Love has found a magic space
A deep and hidden place where time stands still
Now I hold you in my arms
You know you hold my heart and always will

And you and i, here we are
And it’s a wonder that we’ve come this far.

And after all that we’ve been through
You’ve leaned on me, I’ve leaned on you
    Do you dream of me?
And when you’re smiling in your sleep
    Beyond the promises we keep
    Do you dream of me?

If I could only read your mind
Tell me the answer I would find
    Do you dream of me?
And when you’re smiling in your sleep
    Beyond the promises we keep
    Do you dream of me?
And after all that we’ve been through
You’ve leaned on me, I’ve leaned on you.
    Do you dream of me?

Why did Hitler choose the swastika symbol to represent the Nazis?

In 1920, Adolf Hitler decided that the Nazi Party needed its own insignia and flag. For Hitler, the new flag had to be a symbol of their struggle as well as "highly effective as a poster".

Hitler had a convenient but spurious reason for choosing the hooked cross. It had been used by the Aryan nomads of
    India in the second millennium.

In Nazi theory, the Aryans were of German ancestry, and Hitler concluded that the swastika had been eternally anti-semitic.

No more dirty talk after midnight!

I came across an article today that jolted my memory back to the horrific Operation Majnu in Meerut. Although not as proposterous, this one too was a form of moral policing, it was more about evoking the freedom of the youth to...well..speak.

Bangladeshi authorities have ordered the country's mobile phone companies to stop providing free talk time after midnight because it is "spoiling" the younger generation.

Parents have complained that their children are indulging in immoral activities, are not studying and in some cases, not sleeping for even one hour at night.

This news item tells me three things:

    1. Mobile Service Providers in Bangladesh are more rocking than those in India - here we only get discounted rates at night, no free time

    2. The youth of Bangladesh have much to talk about (not sleep for even an hour!?)

    3. The Moral police are taking away our right to live as we want.

Earlier, the phrase 'moral police' conjured up images of old grannies pointing a disapproving finger at you. Post Operation Majnu, the grannie has turned into an evil middle-aged policewoman humiliating and beating up innocent youngsters.

Today they are stopping young people in Bangladesh from talking free of charge at night, tomorrow they might attack Airtel's 'Night Talk' plan that let's you "party, catch up with friends and generally have a good time, away from the day's grind" (as Airtel puts it) at discounted rates. Instead of contacting your local Airtel Customer Care for pricing and other details, you might end up contacting your local Moral Police Station for permission to speak at night.

We gotta draw the line somewhere.

    BIRD FLU

Outbreak of bird flu in Maharashtra and the Indian government's slow response to this potentially deadly outbreak again highlights the lethargic attitude of our elected representatives. That India's largest poultry company managed to keep the outbreak under wraps for some time, and it took the deaths of over 40,000 birds to draw the government's attention is a slap on the face of the establishment. In fact, does the government care at all?

The government took no precautions to safeguard India against the virus, which was spreading across the world like wildfire and was certain to reach our shores sooner rather than later. Detection took longer still, and though chickens are being burnt at a rapid pace now, there is now a concern about the safety of those employed to do the job. Government has had to employ extra staff on a temporary basis to fuel culling on such a massive scale. But there is not enough protective gear for this extra staff, which makes them easy targets. And all this killing may just not be enough.

The poultry farming industry will surely take a huge hit from this crisis. Big companies may still be able to survive this onslaught, but small-scale farmers, who run this trade from their backyards, will lose a valuable source of income. It can be argued that the government is offering compensation for every bird, but while a chicken fetches somewhere around Rs 80 in a market, the government has set the price at a paltry Rs 40. This has forced medium to small operators to hold back their birds, some of which could be infected! They are, however, ready to risk the threat rather than take a monetary setback which could leave their kids starving.

With such poor planning and miserable implementation, it'll be some time before Indian shores are rid of bird flu -- if at all!

    Fashon street

Now how many of us have noticed and appreciated the fact that foreigners really make street-fashion rock and have a big hand in making it big. Yeah! All of us have noticed that. I wonder why we don’t make full use of the by-lanes of Pahar Ganj, Tibetan Market, Sarojini Nagar and good old Janpath or for that matter fashion street in Mumbai.

Street Fashion is really big in every nook and corner of the country. The trouble is that we don’t know how to make good use of it. Yet, we keep wondering how foreigners carry off street fashion with such attitude and panache.

To make it work for you, it is important to understand what is street fashion and where, when and how much of it looks appealing. You can say there are two kinds of fashion that has made way into our lives through various fashion bazaars or local fashion markets. One is the functional-stylish street fashion that comes to us from the backpackers’ tradition. This includes shorts-tees, funky pajamas, lowers and other stuff. The second is the ornamental kind of fashion represented by skirts, dresses, junk jewelry et al.

Another thing one should keep in mind is that street fashion is essentially radical in nature (at least that’s how it began) and often goes against the current upper class fashion trends. So if Rohit Bal has said that the subtle look is in, the fashion statements on the street could be crazy bold colours. But when the upper class begins to use street fashion, the street immediately discards it and switches to a new trend. So if a certain style was prevalent on streets and a designer decides to put his trademark on it by making it popular, that style would go off the streets! For now, it would be called nothing new but a cheap down-market imitation (and comes to be known as a poor man’s Ritu Beri!).

Where we go wrong as consumers is that we tend to overdo everything including street fashion. So, if we decide to go functional-stylish or ornamental we go all out of the way and do it. And more often than not the spirit of the person is not in sync with the spirit of clothes! So while the foreigner who comes here is actually a backpacker and it suits him to wear just about anything off the street it may not suit an executive living in Delhi. He would just look like a dude-trying-to-be-a-backpacker.

You can only carry off a complete street look and make a fashion statement only if you are filthy rich, very beautiful or extremely powerful. If you are none of these, don’t try to go overboard and stick to standard fashion norms and conventional attire.

The safest and the best bet is to mix and match street fashion with brands. It looks really hip and zany. Merging the functional with the ornamental is also big but it should be done in right proportions.

So next time when you pair your Levis or Pepe with that red sequined spaghetti (you bought for 50 bucks) and red kohlapuris, you have not only made street fashion de rigueur and tasteful but also evolved your own fashion fundas.

Why are more people right-handed than left-handed?

While it's not certain why more people are right-handed people than left-handed, there are several theories. One is that the left side of the brain controls speech, and the right side of the body.

And so more people are right-handed. Another explanation is based on genetics. Even if both parents are left-handed, there's only a 26 per cent chance that their offspring would also be left-handed.

All these theories have their own loopholes, so one can conclusively explain why more people are right-handed than left-handed..

    I am right-handed... what about u????????

    Mumbai Floods.... (My Experience)

Have Seen A Thin Fault Between Life And Death

Last year my brother (sudhir) experienced hurricane and I experienced floods for the first time in my life......

During my semester holidays I had been to Mumbai (as usual)....

...I was in Andheri (east). My cousin sis wanted to buy a PC ,so planned to meet the dealer that afternoon.. . We were in his office by about 2pm & when we came out of the office by about 3:20pm it was raining heavily.... oooohhhhh!!!! Didn’t notice that when we were inside...

Were waiting at the bus stop but din find and bus or taxi …. Then decided to walk home (about 6-8kms)… Water got accumulated on the road & was rising pretty quickly… I was enjoying the water rise.. We were walking on the divider, which was submerged in water… … When reached Air Port road the water had raised to about 3&1/2feet That was not a matter of worry for me ( coz of my height 6feet 3inches).. but could see other people finding it difficult to walk...

Just 15 min after we crossed a small bridge, water started flowing over the bridge and some people and bikes had flown with it.. That was a lucky escape We then reached the crossing of maroll.. had to cross the raod but water was flowing dangerously

When I was just about to cross the road, One old lady ( about 65yrs old) from behind called me to help her to get down from the divider and cross the road..She was with her Daughter (about 40yrs) and Granddaughter (about 20yrs) ... When I was helping the old lady to cross the road the other two shouted to leave her and help them and the old lady pleading to first let her cross… They were arguing with each other in Gujrathi. I could understand only a bit of it... .. I was totally amazed …that was a wonderful scene… (I was literally laughing)…. I then first helped the old lady then the other 2… ooh was how some people in order to save their own lives forget others…

As we moved further the water raised above my jeans pocket.. That time I had problems to walk, I was afraid that one wrong step or a slip would cost my life… I could see people getting out of their cars, sitting on the car roof etc. Some shoes, dupattas, bags etc was flowing with water and was obstructing us .... oohhh!!!! We reached home by about 7pm..

The apartment is situated at some height hence there was no trouble there…But my younger cousin had not returned from college. Went down in search of her… but didn’t find her, we where there till about 11:30 and couldn’t contact home as our mobiles were jammed, & coz of power cut couldn’t see anything…it was a terrifying moment… We were tensed..

When we reached home found that younger cousin had reached home …. That relieved us….. But one thing for sure, if I was short I would not have survived... Thankful to God and my sister's presence of mind... coz if I would be alone would have waited to see the cars disappear in water not aware of the danger ahead.

HHHHuuuuuuuu this was the first time I had experienced floods and hope shpuld be the last...... I dont know how many typing mistakes i have made as dont have time to check..... I am sorry if any.... : ) and sorry if i bored you with a loooooooong post...

    Hurricane

    My Cousin is in
Merchant Navy..... He was sailing on this ship just a couple of months back..... His ship was struck by the Hurricane...
mmmmmmm I don't remember the name of that hurricane......??? The one which came soon after Hurricane Katrina.......

    .....

The weather was rough ,,,High speed winds,,And above all the sea had gone wild....
In one pic you can see a white pole at the Bow end of the ship..But it is not visible in the second one....its totally covered by water.....
    ooooooooohhhhhh goshhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

This was the firs time that he had experienced a Hurricane .... Leaving the engine, rest every thing stopped working (communication system etc......) Its good that the engine was working.... they had a tough time... .... But a gr8 experience... Some kind of experience which the will remember for the rest of their life
